Rovaniemi is the capital of Finnish Lapland and the most popular gateway to the Arctic — home of Santa Claus, the Arctic Circle, and a launchpad for Northern Lights hunts, husky safaris and reindeer experiences. With its own airport and the overnight Santa Claus Express train from Helsinki, it is the easiest place in Lapland to reach, which makes it the natural anchor for a first Arctic trip.
Almost every one of our packages passes through Rovaniemi so you can meet the real Santa, cross the Arctic Circle line at 66°33′N and send a postcard from Santa’s official Arctic post office — before continuing to our wilderness base in Ruka-Kuusamo for the best dark-sky aurora hunting.

How to get to Rovaniemi
Rovaniemi has direct winter flights from Helsinki and several European cities, and the overnight Santa Claus Express train from Helsinki is an adventure in itself. Our packages handle every transfer and ticket, including the scenic train north.
Best time to visit Rovaniemi
December to March brings deep snow, Christmas magic and peak Northern Lights season. September to October offers autumn colours and milder weather. Summer brings the midnight sun and a green, very different Arctic Circle.
